SPEAK LIFE
You speak hope, You speak love, You speak Life,
Well it’s crazy to imagine,
SPEAK LIFE
You speak hope, You speak love, You speak Life,
Well it’s crazy to imagine,
BEFORE HE DID, THE BASTARD MILKED HER
An exerpt from The Philip Wollen Story
“There was no single seminal event, just a gradual realization that I had experienced a paradigm shift in my thinking. There was a time when I used to joke that the only thing that will change a man is if he a) finds religion or b) Has a full frontal lobotomy. Nowadays, I say it is when he discovers his character.
If there ever was a Damascene event in my case, then it would be the time I visited a large industrial conglomerate in the course of my professional work as a merchant banker. I inspected one of their subsidiaries – which turned out to be a slaughterhouse. It was the most terrifying experience of my life and it affected me profoundly. I made the most important decision of my life that morning. To become a vegetarian; to leave my career; and become an advocate for social justice.
But I was not yet a vegan. I didn’t know enough. I thought that dairy was the bucolic, peaceful image of green pastures and crystal streams, rolling hills and the poetry of Wordsworth and Shelley. Little did I know that behind the dairy walls was a cruel industrial juggernaut, a vile gulag of despair.
I discovered that milk was meat in liquid form. During a business trip to India I saw a milkman dragging and whipping a cow. She had been badly injured in an accident with a lorry. To get her to move, he was throwing chili powder in her eyes, and shoving sharp objects in her anus. He had a chain around her neck and forced her to walk with a broken leg and severe injuries to her spine. Beside her walked her scrawny, starving and terrified calf, ribs protruding and her skinny legs trembling. At the slaughterhouse gate, he unchained her. But before he did so, the bastard milked her. If that sight does not change the heart of a man, nothing will. . . . ” ~ Philip Wollen, Kindness Trust

A BREATH OF THANKSGIVING
In this moment
move beyond the stories of history of Thanksgivings past
and into a reality of a new Thanksgiving of
UNITY
leaving behind things that matter not
From this breath forward
may we choose to walk together in
LIGHT
collectively setting our sight on
things that truly matter
Empathy
Compassion

Mercy
Grace
Peace
Love
with clean hands
loving hearts
peaceful spirits
and compassionate intention
enabled
to offer blessings
and receive them
so that our souls can again fly free
as they once did
that we may recognize
the gift of abundance
that we receive
in the breath we are afforded
this very moment
this moment provides us with
everything we need
Infinite Love

RATS, COCKROACHES AND POLAR BEARS
The sun grew hot in the Arctic
Toxins rose from the ocean floor
Habitat destroyed
Driven to extinction
Unaccounted for.
~~~~~
We swam in search of icebergs
Hundreds of miles or more
My cubs drowned from exhaustion
Before I reached the shore.
~~~~~
Once on land I searched for food
I couldn’t find it anywhere
Invisible on Ice – Ignored on Land
The humans did not care.
~~~~~
Left to seek friends from low places
Among garbage and poisonous air
“Come dine with us, we have plenty to share,”
said
The rats and cockroaches
of the dumpsters and landfills
To The Earth’s
Last Polar Bear.
Growing up on land, I spent hours each day with animals untethered . . . especially the horses. I leared to understand the breathing patterns, mannerisms, movements, individual quirks, fears and motivations. For the most part, when I rode, I rode bareback, with a simple halter and rope reins and we learned to move as one. The peace of the horses spirit has greatly influenced my spirit and who I have become. You will not be sorry to have experienced this video.
Blessings!
Today the Japanese whaling fleets are in the Southern Ocean
preparing to harpoon
literally hundreds of endangered whales
under the guise of “Scientific Research.”
The world governments refuse to intervene
therefore, the only help the whales will receive
is from individuals
like you and me
and volunteer groups laying their lives on the line
to put themselves between the harpoons and the whales themselves.
Will we stand by?
I will not.
Take any action available to protect our ocean’s wildlife.
Call governmental leadership, write letters, post to blogs, write poetry,
use all social networking platforms availabe to ring this URGENT bell.
On behalf of the innocent, sentient beings who cannot speak for themselves,
Thank You.
NEW DELHI: The sight of poorly fed and badly treated bears being forced to dance on the streets of India is a thing of the past as a campaign to wipe out the practice has finally borne fruit, activists say.
The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and India-based Wildlife SOS, which runs sanctuaries for bears, have also declared an end to the practice in the last few months, 40 years after a government ban in 1972.
Americans are becoming increasingly aware that circus animals in the US suffer from violent training techniques and severe confinement which are unavoidable due to the constraints of constant travel on the road.
The Bolivian, Greek and Dutch governments have announced their ban on the use of wild animals in circuses. The UK is preparing to do the same. As self-proclaimed ‘leaders’ of the free world, it is time for the U.S. to wake up and back up their image of kindness, compassion, protection and preservation of our shared planet.
Our voices can be heard.
The information below will help us
collectively communicate the need to protect traveling circus animals:
Email Congress
Ask them to sign the Traveling Exoctic Animal Protection Act #HR3359
~~~
Write a Letter to Congree
~~~
Place a Call to Congress
Calls and emails are to Congress members D.C. offices will have the immediate impact the animals need, but please follow up with a letter mailed to their district offices, not in D.C. as all mail going to the Capitol gets irradiated to protect from anthrax, and therefore is not as likely to get their attention.
Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Representative’s office. (Please do not call your Senator at this time as a companion bill in the Senate has not yet been introduced.)
Raise Awareness
Individuals make a difference.
Utilize social media platforms,
Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, blogs and email
to raise awareness of the need for protection of animals used for entertainment purposes.
